Job description

Overview

Responsible for operating industrial equipment and forklift trucks to perform all material handling assignments. Identify and transport materials to and from storage areas, machines, and loading docks, into trailers. Verify case picks and customer requirements. Assign staging lanes to outbound shipments. Ensure products are correctly staged. Lead a group of warehouse workers to complete tasks efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Perform operation and safety checks on equipment before use.
• Familiarize with the productive capacity of machines and the loading schedule of shipping services to ensure prompt delivery and prevent equipment shutdowns.
• Use snips to open loads, remove strapping and wrapping, and dispose of materials safely in designated containers. Place protective materials around loads and use strapping equipment to secure shipments.
• Remove and stack empty skids in designated areas.
• Safely move and load merchandise, handling all related documentation.
• Complete cleaning duties at the end of each shift.
• Conduct safety checks on equipment prior to use, including batteries, brakes, lift controls, and computer systems.
• Lift or move objects weighing up to 75 lbs.
• Operate heavy machinery such as forklifts.
• Follow all GMP and food safety requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Meet production standards and quotas.
