Schedule: 8:00 AM-4:30 PM Monday-Friday, OT as needed (Receiving)

JOB DESCRIPTION

The primary function of this position is to lead warehouse activities and represented workforce to accomplish cost, schedule, and quality objectives for the warehousing area. Facilitate the timeliness, accuracy and quality of materials handled in fulfilling customer orders and in inventory. Drive employees and leadership to comply with defined core processes and defined processes that are program specific. The function requires coordination and cooperation with the Order Management, Corporate Sourcing and Inventory Planning, Project/Program/Account Management and Transportation Departments to ensure that work meets customers’ needs and is delivered on time.

As a team lead, this role will be responsible for tasks that are deemed outside of the normal shipment process while also focusing on the quality of the shipping process ensuring accuracy of all shipments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitor and perform quality control of assigned warehouse processes; receiving, picking, and/or shipping
  • Perform inventory adjustment processes; cycle counting RMA, non-conforming, order posting, etc.
  • Perform assigned warehouse data management processes; material transfers, order maintenance, Oracle tracking update, routing, etc.
  • Coordinate and expedite flow of materials, parts, and manage inventory
  • Communicate status to warehouse, operations, project management and customer
  • Examine material to verify conformance to specifications
  • Compile and maintain manual or computerized records such as material inventory, in-process production reports, and status and location of materials
  • Move or transport materials from one department to another
  • Monitor and control movement of material and parts
  • Identify and implement changes to improve quality, schedule and cost
  • Maintain good documentation of time and production records
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and make constructive suggestions for change
  • Provide training on required skills to warehouse team members
  • Provide a safe work environment and take timely corrective action to correct unsafe conditions
  • Reinforce a culture that values and embraces teamwork and diversity
  • Coordinate department activities and special projects to ensure quality and meet timetables
  • Lead and schedule resources to meet department productivity and quality goals
  • Address all quality findings and take timely corrective action to correct the findings and prevent any recurrence
  • Resolve and/or escalate issues in a timely fashion

Physical Demands

  • Lift up to 50 lbs
  • Push utility carts up to 60 lbs
  • Stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, and reach during shift
  • Use carts, dollies, hand trucks, and other equipment to move items around
  • Go up and down stairs
  • Be exposed to an environment with variable temperatures
  • Be trained to and operate forklifts for up to 6 hours a day

Skills and Abilities Required

  • Strong knowledge of standard Warehouse procedures/inventory control systems
  • Intermediate to strong level of computer skills including working knowledge of MS Excel, Microsoft Office, and Word. Use of computer in data retrieval and entry
  • Ability to enter keyboard data at least 30 words per minute
  • Able to use various types of computer peripheral equipment, such as bar code scanner, printer and label printer
  • Work experience in ISO/TL 9000 certified operations
  • Ability to work independently; demonstrate leadership capabilities
  • Good organizational, communication and people skills
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities
  • The employee must be capable of lifting and/or moving up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide and count in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

Education and Experience Required

  • Minimum of 6 months of experience using a Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Minimum of 5 years warehouse experience in an inventory control capacity
  • Trained in safety of lifting, handling, and transporting materials of various shapes, sizes and weights
