Job Summary

The Lead Visual Inspection Technician is responsible for performing quality inspections of sterile injectable products for commercial distribution and clinical trials in a fast-paced environment. This role involves following SOPs and batch records in accordance with cGMPs, employing proper PPE gowning techniques, and providing training and coaching to less experienced technicians. The technician interacts with customers as needed.

On-Site Expectations

• 100% on-site position.
• 2nd Shift: Monday - Friday, 3:00pm - 11:30pm.

Responsibilities

• Follow SOPs and cGMPs to perform duties.
• Complete tasks timely and in compliance with training requirements.
• Conduct visual inspections of sterile liquids per regulatory guidelines.
• Identify debris, air line issues, and defects visually.
• Document activities accurately and legibly on controlled documentation.
• Perform component counting and basic math calculations.
• Clean rooms, tools, and equipment as required.
• Perform specific visual inspections per SOPs.
• Ensure product meets appearance specifications before packaging.
• Perform bulk packaging for shipment to other facilities.
• Operate material handling equipment.
• Demonstrate proficiency in department procedures and train others.
• Provide work instructions and oversee daily tasks in the supervisor's absence.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School diploma with 3-5+ years of relevant experience or an associate degree with at least 1 year of relevant experience.
• GMP experience in a regulated industry preferred; medical device experience required.

• Correctable 20/20 near-sighted vision, tested annually.
• Ability to distinguish colors.
• Basic math skills, including product calculations and rounding.
• Ability to read and understand detailed instructions.
• Ability to move materials using appropriate equipment.

• Ability to train and develop others.

Travel Expectations

• Up to 5% domestic travel.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

The physical requirements include frequent standing, handling, reaching, talking, hearing, smelling, walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, sitting, and lifting up to 50 pounds with assistance. The environment may involve exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, chemicals, and noise, requiring appropriate PPE.
