Job summary

Fox Creek Veterinary Hospital at Wildwood, MO, is hiring a full-time Lead Veterinary Technician to oversee patient care and client service in a busy practice. Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years as a veterinary technician with 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role.
• Strong understanding of veterinary protocols, patient care and hospital operations.
• Experience using veterinary management software (SmartFlow, Cornerstone) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage technician and doctor workflow using Smart Flow and ensure Cornerstone schedule is accurate and up to date.
• Coordinate scheduling with the lead receptionist and ensure efficient hospital operations.
• Perform lead self-evaluations and review with the Practice Manager monthly.
• Train technicians to meet Fox Creek's standards of care and customer service.
• Ensure onboarding and phase training remains up to date.
• Maintain high standards of care in medical protocols, customer service, and patient management.
• Assume Manager on Duty role as needed, including weekends and after-hours.

Salary:

$24.00 - $28.00 per hour, determined by the candidate's skills, experience, and qualifications. $1,500 Sign On Bonus

Schedule:

This is a full-time position. Our hospital operates 7 days a week, 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM. Candidates must have open availability, including evenings, overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays. Reliability and a team-oriented attitude are a must. Shift differentials are offered for eligible overnight and weekend hours.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage technician and doctor workflow using Smart Flow and ensure the Cornerstone schedule is accurate and up to date, reflecting the actual hospital workflow of the day. Manage the use of Smart Flow with the team and ensure they are using it effectively.
• Work with lead receptionist to ensure appropriate scheduling
• Perform lead self-evaluations and ensure they are presented to the Practice Manager (PM) monthly.
• Train all technicians to meet the standards of care and customer service set by Fox Creek, ensuring consistent knowledge of medical protocols, equipment use, and patient care procedures.
• Ensure that all onboarding and phase training is kept up to date.
• Ensure that the team is consistently meeting Fox Creek’s standards of care in all areas, including medical protocols, customer service, and patient management.
• Assume the Manager on Duty role as needed, including weekends and after-hours.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a veterinary technician, with at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role.
• Strong understanding of veterinary medical protocols, patient care, and hospital operations.
• Experience using veterinary management software (e.g., SmartFlow, Cornerstone) is highly preferred.
