Job summary

Veterinary Practice Partners is seeking an experienced veterinarian to partner on a practice ownership opportunity in the Greater Sacramento area. You will lead a hospital as Medical Director, shape medical strategy, and develop a high-performing team.

The role offers a competitive base salary with production, a Medical Director stipend, monthly profit distributions, and long-term equity value creation in a doctor-led, locally branded hospital. Relocation and comprehensive benefits are included.

Qualifications

• Require DVM degree or equivalent.
• Active California veterinary license.
• 3+ years clinical experience preferred.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Interest in ownership and building a hospital for long-term growth.

Responsibilities

• Establish and uphold medical standards and protocols.
• Lead case flow and clinical decision-making.
• Ensure high-quality patient care and clear client communication.
• Oversee medical records accuracy and charge capture.
• Identify and implement clinical service enhancements.
• Help recruit, hire, and onboard veterinarians and support staff.
• Build and develop a strong clinical team.
• Mentor associate veterinarians and support continued clinical development.
• Contribute to operational strategy and scheduling.
• Foster a collaborative, team-first culture.
• Drive revenue growth while maintaining medical excellence.
• Participate in annual planning and performance reviews.
