Mass-RI Veterinary Services in Swansea, MA is seeking an experienced Lead Veterinarian with strong surgical interests to guide clinical excellence and mentor a growing team.

As part of the COVE Animal Health network, you will lead medical standards, collaborate with specialists, and help expand surgical services while delivering compassionate care to companion animals.

This leadership role combines hands-on patient care with strategic growth, mentorship, and a supportive, collaborative culture.

Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent veterinary degree.
• Eligible for veterinary licensure in Massachusetts.
• Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Passion for mentorship and team development.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a medical leader and role model within the hospital.
• Promote excellence in patient care, client communication, and medical standards.
• Collaborate with hospital leadership on operational and strategic initiatives.
• Support quality improvement efforts and advancement of medical protocols.
• Mentor and support associate veterinarians.

Mass-RI Veterinary Services is seeking an experienced Lead Veterinarian to join our growing team in Swansea, Massachusetts. We are especially interested in candidates with a strong surgical background or special interest in surgery who are excited to help shape the future of our hospital while continuing to practice high-quality medicine.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a veterinarian who enjoys mentorship, collaboration, and leadership while maintaining an active clinical role. What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent veterinary degree.
• Eligible for veterinary licensure in Massachusetts.
• Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Board Certified Veterinary Surgeon (ACVS) preferred
• Previous leadership or medical director experience.
• Advanced surgical experience.
• Interest in developing or expanding surgical offerings within the hospital.
• Desire to contribute to strategic growth and hospital development.
