Job summary

Governors Avenue Animal Hospital in Dover, DE is seeking a Managing Veterinarian to lead our veterinary team while remaining active in clinical practice. The role combines medical leadership with mentoring, protocol development, and oversight of care standards.

We offer a competitive base salary of $130,000–$175,000 with additional production bonuses and a sign-on bonus up to $35,000, plus a robust benefits package and opportunities for ownership through joint venture options.

Qualifications

• DVM degree or equivalent with veterinary medicine expertise.
• Strong commitment to evidence-based veterinary care and best practices.
• Proven ability to lead, delegate, and develop high-performing teams.
• Excellent communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical leadership and oversight of the veterinary team

• Partner with Hospital Manager on budgeting, financial performance, and operational improvements
