Job description

We are working on behalf of a newly launched, modern small animal practice in Salt Lake City, UT that is looking to welcome a Lead Veterinarian to head up its clinical team.

The practice is part of a growing network backed by one of the most recognized names in pet care, and every hospital has been designed from the ground up by veterinarians. That means advanced equipment, purpose-built technology, and workflows that let doctors focus on medicine and on the people and pets in front of them. As Lead Veterinarian, you will set the clinical standard for the hospital.

You will mentor and develop associate veterinarians, help grow a strong technician and assistant team, and work closely with leadership to shape how the practice runs day to day. Alongside your leadership role, you will keep a full clinical caseload covering medicine, surgery, and dentistry, with the freedom to take on more complex cases.

This is a great fit for an experienced general practitioner who enjoys teaching, wants a real say in building a hospital culture, and would like the backing of a well-resourced organization while doing it.

The group puts genuine weight on team wellbeing, with competitive benefits, scheduling options built around your lifestyle, and a collaborative environment where doctors are supported to do their best work.

Salt Lake City also offers an excellent quality of life, with world-class skiing, hiking, and national parks all within easy reach.

Key Highlights:
  • Brand new practice designed from the ground up by veterinarians
  • Advanced equipment and purpose-built technology to support great medicine
  • Leadership role with real influence over clinical standards and hospital culture
  • Mentor and develop associate veterinarians and the wider support team

  • Collaborative, team-first culture with a focus on low stress patient care
About You:
  • DVM, VMD, or equivalent degree that allows you to practice veterinary medicine in the US
  • You hold, or are eligible for, licensure in Utah, along with DEA registration
  • 5+ years of experience in general medicine and surgery
  • 1 to 3 years of leadership or mentoring experience
  • Confident performing advanced surgery and managing complicated cases
  • Collaborative team player who enjoys coaching and developing others
  • Passionate about helping people and pets with empathy and great client service
  • Competitive compensation
  • Scheduling options that fit your lifestyle
  • Continuing education support
  • Career growth within a large, expanding network of practices
