Qualifications

Job Summary And Qualifications

Lead Vascular Technologist

Our imaging teams are a committed, caring group of professionals. We are currently seeking a Lead Vascular Technologist on a full-time basis. As a Lead on our team you will perform supervisory duties within the department and are responsible for directing department technical activities, technologist staff, and ancillary personnel in the Vascular Lab department. You will also coordinate interdepartmental activities, perform advanced diagnostic non-invasive vascular exams and perform appropriate evaluations of vascular morphology and physiology according to the national standards set forth by the American College of Radiology.

Your tasks and responsibilities as a Lead Vascular Technologist include but are not limited to:

  • Perform general and vascular ultrasound exams (abdomen, pelvis, small parts, peripheral vascular, carotid, TCD)
  • Perform appropriate evaluations of vascular morphology and physiology according to national standards
  • Assist the radiologist in ultrasound-guided procedures (i.e., paracentesis, thoracentesis, biopsy, aspiration)
  • Demonstrate concern and empathy while performing tests and procedures in a careful, compassionate and respectful manner
  • Prepare and position patients and equipment in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures
  • Maintain proactive, effective communication with patient and physicians regarding any and all findings, patient histories and test results as appropriate
  • Collaborate and confer with all colleagues and members of the healthcare team

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program
  • Current ARDMS registry
  • RDMS (Abdomen) and RVT, preferred
  • Must obtain RVT if not already held
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years post-graduate hospital experience in an acute-care setting as a registered technologist
  • Must meet hospital call-back requirements of 30 minutes
  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 lbs
