Job summary

Kent Place School in Summit, NJ, seeks a Winter/Spring Varsity Track Coach for the 2026-2027 season to lead all track disciplines after school hours. Hours are 3:45–5:45 p.m. with meets potentially extending.

Experience at collegiate or club levels is preferred; high school coaching is required. The role reports to the Director of Athletics and focuses on developing student-athletes through strong leadership, communication, and knowledge of track rules and strategies.

Qualifications

• Prior coaching/playing experience at the collegiate level preferred; high school level required.
• Understand the fundamentals of track.
• Ability to motivate athletes to reach their potential.
• Demonstrate strong leadership.
• Knowledge of rules, regulations, strategies, and techniques of the sport.

Responsibilities

• Organize and conduct practices for winter and spring varsity track teams.
• Provide athlete supervision during practices, meets, and school transportation.
• Communicate clearly with athletes, parents, and administrators.
• Uphold professional standards of conduct and sportsmanship.
• Collaborate with the Athletics Department to coordinate events and logistics.
