Job summary

North Ridgeville City Schools is seeking a Head Varsity Men's Track Coach to lead the program with a focus on skill development, discipline and character building for student athletes. Responsibilities include planning practices, coordinating with the Athletic Director, ensuring safety, and fostering sportsmanship while maintaining compliance with required certifications and school policies.

The candidate must obtain BCI, FBI, CPR/First Aid for Coaches, Fundamentals of Coaching, Concussion

Qualifications

• Act as a proper role model for staff and students both in the school and outside the District.
• Possess a positive coaching philosophy and excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Previous high school coaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Possess all required coaching credentials.
• Follow and uphold the policies and procedures of North Ridgeville City Schools.
• Create a safe environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social and emotional development of students.
• Consult with the Athletic Director regarding off-season training programs, camps, tryouts, and facility use.
• Ensure team rules and regulations regarding conduct and eligibility are clearly communicated and followed.
• Plan, organize, advertise and conduct tryouts when applicable.
• Plan, organize and direct the operations of the program in conjunction with the Athletic Department.
• Instruct and demonstrate skill sets and techniques for development.
• Work with the school athletic trainer on reporting injuries and safety procedures.
• Model good sportsmanship and maintain appropriate conduct towards opponents and spectators.
• Create a proactive plan for student-athletes pursuing athletic and academic goals beyond high school.
• Maintain appropriate relationships with student-athletes, including social media and communication.
