Job summary

Gooding High School is seeking a dedicated Varsity Tennis Coach to lead the tennis program and foster a positive, competitive environment for student-athletes. The role requires commitment to training, mentoring, and guiding athletes to excel both on and off the court.

The coach will develop a comprehensive training plan, organize practices, coordinate matches and travel, and monitor athlete progress while promoting sportsmanship and inclusion within the team.

Qualifications

• Background check required per state regulations.
• Proven high school level or higher coaching experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and leadership capabilities.
• Ability to motivate student-athletes academically and athletically.
• Flexible to work evenings and weekends for practices and games.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive training program for the varsity tennis team.
• Organize daily practices and optimize use of time and resources.
• Prepare the team for competitions, including scheduling and travel logistics.
• Assess performance and provide constructive feedback and coaching.
• Foster a positive team culture with teamwork and growth.
• Communicate with athletes, parents, and school administration about progress and expectations.
• Collaborate with other coaches to align with school goals.
• Ensure compliance with league rules and safety protocols.
• Maintain records of attendance and performance metrics.
• Organize fundraising and community engagement for the tennis program.
