Job summary

Edwards Lifesciences’ Implantable Heart Failure Management (IHFM) AI, Product and Platforms group is seeking a Lead Designer to set the design direction for a major product area and lead design systems and usability engineering efforts for clinicians and patients.

This onsite Irvine, CA role combines design craft with regulatory fluency to ensure IHFM products look, feel, and perform at the highest standard.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction, or related field with eight years of design experience.
• Deep proficiency with Figma and usability research tools, design systems, and prototyping.
• Experience planning and conducting formative and summative usability testing.

Responsibilities

• Set design direction for a significant product area and ensure quality across features.
• Lead design systems work, owning components, patterns, accessibility standards, and guidelines.
• Lead usability engineering activities to support regulatory submissions under IEC 62366-1.
• Act as an HFE contributor for SaMD, partnering with R&D, quality, regulatory, and clinical stakeholders.
• Influence product strategy and mentor designers across levels in cross-functional teams.
