Job summary

CPS, Inc. in Rocky Hill, CT is seeking a senior chemist to direct two lab technicians and drive commercialization of UV-stable epoxy adhesives. The role offers leadership growth into a Group Leader position and exposure to cutting-edge materials.

You will design and deliver 1K and 2K epoxy systems for outdoor use, manage end-to-end development, file patents, and collaborate with global teams. A PhD or MS with extensive product development experience is preferred, with travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, Materials Science, or related field.
• B.S. degree with 10+ years product development experience may be considered.
• Proven on-time product development from idea to commercialization.
• Minimum 5 years of UV/light-stable epoxy systems for outdoor applications.
• Travel up to 10%.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Experience generating IP/patents is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Direct two Lab Techs and mentor; potential leadership growth.
• Design, develop, and support on-time commercialization of new adhesive formulations (1K & 2K).
• Lead UV/light-stable epoxy formulations for outdoor durability.
• Drive end-to-end product development from ideation to scale-up.
• Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, marketing for launches.
• Ensure safety and regulatory compliance in laboratory work.
• Present research to internal teams, customers and conferences.
• Mentor junior chemists and provide technical leadership.
