Responsibilities

MV Transportation is seeking a Lead Utility Worker to supervise/assist the Maintenance department with the upkeep of the fleet, shop, fuel, washing of the buses, and operations facilities, as well as to provide assistance with the documentation of activities related to vehicle maintenance.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Ensure all vehicles are fully fueled and fluids topped, ready for service at various times of day.
  • Track and monitor fuel and fluids inventories.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date fuel logs for each vehicle and type of fuel/fluid.
  • Clean vehicle interiors and exteriors according to contract specifications.
  • Ensure vehicle emergency equipment (fire extinguishers, body-fluid kits, first aid kits) is fully stocked and functional.
  • Park vehicles according to the facility parking plan.
  • Document and communicate all fleet damage to appropriate personnel, including unreported damage.
  • Maintain work area according to OSHA and EPA regulations.
  • Keep office, break, and restroom areas clean and trash disposed of properly.
  • Maintain adequate supplies and accurate inventory of cleaning materials.
  • Assist shop staff with parts inventory management and procurement for fleet and facility maintenance.
  • Manage and direct the Utilities team.
  • Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Talent Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations related to shop and office conditions.
  • Experience in custodial work and cleaning methods.
  • Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical ability to lift, push, pull, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Comfort working with cleaning compounds, solvents, and chemicals.
  • Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
  • Must be 21 years or older at the time of application.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
