Job summary

The Davey Tree Surgery Company is seeking a Foreman/Foreperson in Florida to supervise a crew performing utility line clearance and tree-trimming work for major electric providers. You will direct crew members, manage equipment, and ensure safe, efficient execution of assigned tasks.

Qualifications include a high school diploma, a valid driver’s license (CDL a plus), pesticide/herbicide licenses as applicable, and ISA Tree Worker certification or willingness to obtain.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Driver’s license is required; CDL preferred but not required.
• Pesticide license if required by state law; Herbicide license a plus.
• Line clearance certification if working near utility transmission lines.
• ISA Certified Tree Worker certification or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Provides crew supervision and line clearing and tree trimming services for major electric utility providers.
• Prunes treetops, repairs damaged trees by trimming or removal, and removes broken limbs from wires, roofs, and other objects.
• Directs crew members and equipment and plans and executes assigned work and tasks.
• Supervises maintenance, preparation and operation of tools and equipment (hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts).
• Operates as part of a crew with Groundmen and Trimmer/Climber; collaborates to complete tasks.
