Job summary

Sifted is seeking a dedicated Receiving Clerk in Seattle to manage the reception of goods, inspect deliveries, and maintain accurate inventory in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

You will coordinate with the Executive Chef/MOD, document receipts, and ensure proper labeling and storage. The role requires standing for extended periods and lifting up to 50 lbs, with growth opportunities in a rapidly expanding startup.

Qualifications

• Experience as receiving clerk or similar role.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations for food service is advantageous.
• Ability to perform basic math and maintain records.

Responsibilities

• Receive shipments and sign paperwork upon receipt.
• Unload packages from incoming trucks and inspect contents.
• Verify items against orders and invoices for quantity and quality.

About the role

Schedule: Monday - Friday // 6:30am-3pm

Lead the utility department, fill in at dishwasher as needed, put away and maintain storage areas, basic repair of kitchen equipment, assembly of new kitchen equipment, facilities knowledge at a basic level or diagnosing and repairing.

This Monday- Friday role would be great for someone with receiving skills or interested in getting into the industry. What you’ll be doing

• Receive shipments and sign paperwork upon receipt
• Unload packages from incoming trucks
• Inspect contents to ensure they are undamaged
• Verify items according to order and invoices (quantity, quality, price etc.)
• Speak with Executive Chef or MOD if there was identified with an item or delivery
• Assume responsibility for returning unsatisfactory shipments or receiving replacements
• Label deliveries and allocate them to their designated place
• Ensure invoices are signed and filed properly
• Maintain accurate records and assist in inventory control
• Maintain all storage areas, daily cleaning, organizing, identify items needing addressing
• To project a positive and motivated attitude amongst all Team Members

Our ideal candidate

• Proven experience as receiving clerk or similar position preferred
• Understanding of health and safety regulations for food service
• Basic math and recording abilities
• Excellent organizational skills
• Great communication and interpersonal abilities
• Keen eye for detail
• Must be able to stand for up to 6 hours at a time and move equipment up to 50 lbs.
• High school diploma or equivalent certification
• Lead by example in all aspects of the business (production/attitude/cleaning/punctuality)
• Lead by example in regards to safety and sanitation standards set by the local Health Department
• Ability to work efficiently in order to maximize team output and minimize overall labor hours
• Ability to maintain a calm and collected demeanor
• Ability to understand and communicate in written + spoken English
