Job summary

HOK's New York office is seeking an Urban Designer to join our growing Planning practice. You will participate in all phases of large‑scale projects for a variety of clients and may scope work and develop project approaches and work plans for support projects.

Qualifications include a Master’s or Bachelor’s in urban design, planning or architecture, 5–10 years’ experience, and LEED credential within 12 months (LEED ND preferred).

Qualifications

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in urban design, planning or architecture.
• 5–10 years of experience in urban design or related field.
• LEED credential required within 12 months; LEED ND preferred.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to large‑scale projects, design and review documents per standards.
• Guide project due diligence, mapping site opportunities and constraints.
• Develop urban design graphics, reports, and presentation materials.
• Lead design team tasks, coordinate with multi‑disciplinary partners.
• Mentor junior staff and support client presentations.
