Job summary

CBRE in Secaucus, NJ is seeking a Union Chief Engineer to lead critical facility operations on an advanced campus. You will oversee engineering teams, schedule preventive maintenance, and ensure uptime for mission‑critical building systems.

You’ll mentor technicians, manage resources, and drive processes that minimize downtime while aligning with CBRE RISE values. This leadership role demands hands‑on expertise and a commitment to safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required with 8–10 years of experience.
• NJ Blue Seal License or plan to obtain within 1 year.
• Experience with critical utility systems for data center operations.

Responsibilities

• Manage operations, assign work orders, and provide technical and procedural training.
• Consult with clients to schedule preventive maintenance and reduce downtime.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for building systems.
• Monitor fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to meet design specs.
• Oversee and inspect engineering staff work and ensure completion.
• Respond to emergencies and coordinate additional support.
• Coach others using extensive knowledge of engineering disciplines.
