Job summary

RPM Utilities is actively seeking an experienced Underground Utility Foreman Subcontractor to lead field crews in underground utility construction. The Foreman ensures safe, efficient project completion while meeting production schedules and quality standards.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with underground installation, heavy equipment, trenching, and crew leadership, and is capable of coordinating plans, resources, and safety on site in Texas.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of underground utility construction experience are preferred.
• Previous roles as Foreman, Leadman, or Crew Leader are strongly preferred.
• Experience with underground water, sewer, storm drainage, conduit, or related utility work.
• Ability to read construction plans, drawings, and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise underground utility crews on active construction projects.
• Coordinate daily work assignments and communicate expectations to crew members.
• Oversee installation, repair, and replacement of underground utility systems.
• Perform excavation, trenching, grading, backfilling, and compaction activities.
• Read and interpret construction plans, specifications, blueprints, and utility drawings.
• Verify line, grade, depth, and placement of utility installations.
• Coordinate equipment, materials, and manpower to meet daily goals.
• Work with Superintendents, Project Managers, inspectors, subcontractors, and field personnel.
• Monitor job progress and communicate scheduling or safety concerns to management.
• Conduct daily jobsite and safety inspections; ensure OSHA compliance.
• Lead safety meetings and toolbox talks; enforce proper safety procedures.
• Train, coach, and develop crew members on methods and safety practices.
• Perform hands-on field work as needed to support the crew and maintain production.
