Job summary

SolPowerlines, LLC in New Orleans seeks a seasoned supervisor to direct underground crews installing and maintaining primary and secondary electrical systems (manholes, vaults, transformers, switchgear). You will read prints and plans, plan daily activities, and coordinate with traffic control and restoration teams.

You will enforce NEC/NESC and OSHA safety standards, lead daily briefings and hazard analyses, manage inspections and permits, monitor productivity and material usage, and mentor

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; vocational or technical training in electrical construction preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in underground electrical utility work, with 2+ years in a supervisory or leadership role.

Responsibilities

• Supervise underground crews in installation and maintenance of primary and secondary electrical systems (manholes, vaults, transformers, switchgear).
• Read and interpret electrical utility prints, one-line diagrams, work orders, and as-builts.
• Plan daily work activities, coordinating with traffic control, excavation, and restoration teams.
• Ensure compliance with NEC, NESC, and utility standards.
• Conduct daily job briefings, hazard analyses, and enforce OSHA safety policies.
• Coordinate inspections and permitting with local agencies and utility reps.
• Monitor field productivity, crew performance, material usage, and equipment needs.
• Maintain accurate job site documentation (redlines, timesheets, material logs, daily reports).
• Provide leadership, mentoring, and training to field personnel.
• Troubleshoot technical field issues and guide solutions.
