Job Summary

Performs a full range of diagnostic ultrasound imaging/therapeutic services and patient care, supporting WVU Medicine's mission to provide diagnostic information for patient treatment. Provides management and leadership support for the ultrasound division's efficient operations.

Minimum Qualifications
  1. Education, Certification, and/or Licensure: Registered by the ARDMS with one specialty; Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.
  2. Experience: Three (3) years in Ultrasound.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Education, Certification, and/or Licensure: Completion of a C.A.H.E.A.-accredited training program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
  2. Experience: Five (5) years in Obstetrics & Gynaecology.
Core Duties and Responsibilities

Includes planning and performing imaging procedures, reviewing physician requests, consulting on unusual findings, assisting with invasive procedures, producing high-quality images, maintaining confidentiality, patient education, team collaboration, problem solving, supervising ultrasound staff, evaluating performance, and developing ultrasound protocols.

Physical Requirements

Ability to differentiate shades of gray, stand and walk for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and push portable ultrasound machines.

Work Environment

Clinical setting with accommodations for disabilities as needed.

Additional Job Details

Oversee daily ultrasound department operations at the hospital and satellite offices, including call and holiday rotations. Multiple ARDMS certifications preferred.

Work Schedule and Location
  • 40 hours per week.
  • Location: BMC Berkeley Medical Center, Martinsburg, WV.
