Job summary

Dosher Memorial Hospital in Southport, NC is seeking a Lead Ultrasound Technologist to perform general and breast ultrasound exams, ensuring high quality images and patient care.

You will provide day-to-day clinical leadership, mentoring, and training for sonography staff and students, maintain updated protocols, and coordinate staffing Monday through Friday with Saturday PRN coverage under Radiologist supervision.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
• ARDMS registered or equivalent (vascular and breast preferred).
• Must maintain professional education requirements and complete examinations that meet the department's and ACR's technical and image quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform general and breast ultrasound examinations and ensure high quality diagnostic images.
• Provide day-to-day clinical leadership, mentoring, and training for sonography staff and students.
• Maintain and update ultrasound protocols and procedures based on recommendations and requirements from the radiologist group.
• Ensure appropriate sonography staffing Monday thru Friday and coordinate Saturday PRN coverage.

Lead Ultrasound Technologist - Diagnostic Imaging Full-Time

Operate ultrasound equipment to obtain quality images of designated portions of the body under the direct order of a physician and in accordance with standard operating procedures. Accomplishes patient care in a timely, professional, efficient and safe manner - presenting the detailed preliminary report to the interpreting physician (Radiologist).

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program
• ARDMS registered or equivalent (vascular and breast preferred)
• Must maintain professional education requirements and complete examinations that meet the department's and ACR's technical and image quality standards

Experience

• 2-5 years of diagnostic sonography experience preferred
• Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
• Experience with PACS and familiarity with ACR requirements preferred
