Job Summary and Qualifications

Performs those duties directly involved with the completion of all requested procedures of the Ultrasound Department with regards to Quality and Quantity, providing services to all inpatients and outpatients of all age groups. Supervises employee’s duties and their work process daily. Assesses staffing each day using call techs only when needed. Responsible for maintaining all supplies and equipment functioning for departmental operations. Responsible for staff scheduling and departmental coverage in ultrasound. Establishes and maintains a good rapport and professional relationship with fellow employees, other departments, and medical staff. Performs in the capacity of staff technologist when necessary. Under direction of the Chief Technologist, Director of Radiology, and the Radiologist, performs administrative and consultative duties. Is responsible for directing departmental activity and technologist staff and supporting ancillary personnel. May be required to work at Ocala Regional Hospital, West Marion Community Hospital, or The Free Standing Emergency Department.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Associate Degree.
  • Registered Vascular Lab Technician, or Registered Vascular Specialist, or Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, or Ultrasonographer.
  • 3-5 years of imaging experience is required.
