Job summary

Philips is seeking a Digital Signal Processing Ultrasound Engineer for a Medical Device role in San Diego, CA. You will design and implement imaging algorithms, lead ultrasound imaging capability development, and work on system and transducer integration to deliver high-quality imaging solutions.

The role requires 5+ years in medical imaging, a Masters in a related field (PhD preferred), and expert MATLAB skills.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in medical imaging research and/or product development, focused on Ultrasound Imaging Systems.
• Expert in MATLAB for algorithm and software development.
• Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related field; PhD desired.
• Must be able to plan, lead, and execute laboratory research and experimentation.

Responsibilities

• Apply acoustic wave propagation and signal processing to design imaging algorithms and subsystems.
• Lead development and implementation of ultrasound imaging capabilities, including plans, algorithms, integration, and SW implementation.
• Contribute to design, development, and integration of new ultrasound systems and transducers.
• Tune IVUS systems for optimum image quality across transducers and imaging features.
• Collaborate with customers to understand needs and evaluate new designs.
