Job summary

Bank of America is seeking a Lead UI Developer to own the React/TypeScript codebase within the Single Dealer Platform for Sales/Trading. You will drive frontend architecture, implement real-time UI features using RxJS, and ensure low-latency, accessible interfaces for global institutional clients.

You’ll collaborate with product, UX, and server-side teams to ship performant, resilient front-end solutions, emphasize automated testing, CI/CD, and robust security practices in a high-stakes

Qualifications

  • Solid years building web applications with TypeScript and React; 3+ years in a senior/lead role.
  • WebSockets, Server-Sent Events, WebRTC or other high performance bidirectional data streaming experience.
  • GraphQL, Protobuf, Flatbuffers or other schema-driven API design tools.
  • Strong RxJS (or equivalent observables experience) and reactive architecture in production systems.
  • Proven experience with real time UIs (market data streams, pricing, RFQ/execution, dashboards) and low latency rendering.
  • Deep knowledge of state management (RxJS, or React Query + custom streams) and data flow patterns for streaming + request/response.
  • Testing: Jest/Vitest, React Testing Library, Playwright; strong mock/contract testing.
  • Security: XSS mitigation, CSP, auth flows (OAuth), secure storage, anti phishing UX.
  • CI/CD and feature flagged rollout in regulated environments.
  • Excellent communication; ability to drive consensus across engineering, product, and trading desks.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the UI roadmap, architecture decisions, coding standards, and code reviews for the SDP.
  • Partner with product owners and UX to shape requirements into pragmatic, iterative delivery plans.
  • Own the front end architecture (React + TypeScript + RxJS), including state management, observables, and data flow design for live market data.
  • Design and implement modular, testable, and reusable components and design system primitives aligned to accessibility (WCAG 2.1 AA+).
  • Drive performance engineering: rendering optimization, virtualization for large grids/blotters, memoization, Suspense/Concurrent features, and profiling.
  • Champion resilience: graceful degradation, offline/slow network fallbacks, retry/backoff for streaming and REST, circuit breaker patterns at the UI edge.
  • Enforce automated testing (unit, integration, and UI E2E) and CI/CD with quality gates.
  • Instrument analytics, logging, and front end observability (e.g., Web Vitals, error tracking).
  • Ensure secure front end practices (XSS/CSRF protection, content security policy, secrets handling, auth flows with OAuth/OIDC/JWT).

You will be joining a highly collaborative, cross‑functional team responsible for delivering a world‑class Single Dealer Platform used by Sales, Trading, and institutional clients globally. The team works closely with product, UX, quantitative, pricing, execution, and infrastructure teams to build low‑latency, real‑time trading applications that power critical front‑office workflows

Role Description:

We’re looking for a hands on Lead UI Developer to drive the front end architecture, delivery, and quality of our Single Dealer Platform used by Sales/Trading and institutional clients. You’ll own the React/TypeScript codebase, bring reactive programming best practices (RxJS), and build low latency, event driven UI features for real time market data, pricing, RFQ, order entry, and trade capture.   • Blotters & position views capable of handling 100k+ rows with virtualization and multi column filters.
  • Risk & PnL dashboards with real time recalculation indicators and snapshot comparisons.
  • Workflow panels for allocations, confirmations, and exception handling with audit friendly UX.
Skills that will help:
  • Capital markets domain: FX, Rates, Credit, Equities, Commodities—pricing conventions, market conventions, RFQ lifecycle, OMS/EMS, STP.
  • Micro frontends (Module Federation, single-spa) and shared design systems across multiple pods.
  • Data heavy UIs: grid ecosystems (AG Grid), complex filtering, pinning, pivoting.
  • Publishing and maintaining NPM packages.
