Job summary

Honeywell Aerospace leads a team executing mechanical design, simulation, analysis and testing for turbomachinery within FanC. You will shape products across turbofan, turboshaft and APU applications, applying design, physics, math and software development to a broad set of engineering tasks.

You will drive continuous improvement of design, analysis and simulation methods while mentoring junior engineers and leading cross-functional teams in successful project delivery.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from ABET-accredited institution.
  • Minimum 7+ years' experience in mechanical design and analysis of aerospace components.
  • Minimum 3+ years' experience with turbomachinery components.
  • Minimum 7+ years' experience with FEA software ANSYS APDL or ANSYS Mechanical.

Responsibilities

  • Lead mechanical design of rotating and static turbomachinery components.
  • Lead design and analysis tasks including modal, vibration, deflection, crack growth, burst, fatigue, thermal and stack analyses with FEA.
  • Lead testing of components and engine modules across lifecycles and analyze test data.
  • Generate documentation and present engineering results during design reviews.
  • Mentor junior engineers and lead teams; drive process/tool improvements and proposals.
