Job summary

Columbia Bank, headquartered in Denver, seeks a Specialist III to join the Trust Department and manage trade orders, settlements, and asset transfers. This role supports tax-related tasks and ensures regulatory compliance while coordinating with Trust Management Services on transfers.

Ideal candidates have at least 5 years of related experience, strong communication and project management skills, and a proactive approach to learning and teaching others. Onsite work in Denver is required.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of related experience preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Effective time and project management skills.
  • Well-developed analytical and critical reasoning skills.
  • Proficiency with Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Process trade orders, trade placement and trade settlement.
  • Prepare outgoing wires for trade settlement.
  • Coordinate asset transfers (stocks, bonds, mutual funds).
  • Assist with tax form preparation and tax payments.
  • Ensure compliance with bank regulations and required training.
  • Provide coaching or training as subject matter expert.

Job description

About the Role:Designs and completes a variety of tasks and projects related to the Trust Department.Implements projects and work assignments according to departmental goals, objectives, and policies.In addition to having the ability to process all tasks of the Specialist II, the Specialist III is familiar with all aspects of trade order, trade placement and trade settlement.Prepares outgoing wires for trade settlement.Performs a variety of written and verbal communications to ensure satisfactory completion or implementation of projects.Provides in-house expertise relation to various projectsActs as liaison between Trust Management Services and CTC on trading and asset transfers.Coordinates all incoming and outgoing asset transfers (stocks, bonds, mutual funds) and is expert in how assets are booked to the system including tax lot and cost basis.Assists with tax form preparation and the payment of taxes due and scheduling and payment of estimated tax paymentsDemonstrates compliance with all bank regulations for assigned job function and applies to designated job responsibilities – knowledge may be gained through coursework and on-the-job training. Keeps up to date on regulation changes.Follows all Bank policies and procedures, compliance regulations, and completes all required annual or job-specific training.Maintain a working knowledge of Bank's written policies and procedures regarding Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security and other regulations as applicable to this job description.May be asked to coach, mentor, or train others and teach coursework as subject matter expert.Actively learns, demonstrates, and fosters the Columbia corporate culture in all actions and words.Takes personal initiative and is a positive example for others to emulate.Embraces our vision to become “Business Bank of Choice”May perform other duties as assigned.About You:High School Diploma or equivalent certificate required.Bachelor’s Degree in related field, preferred.5+ years, related experience, preferred.Thorough understanding of departmental professional and business goals and how they contribute to the Bank’s business objectivesEffective written and verbal communication and presentation skillsDemonstrated effective time and project management skillsStrong working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software, including Microsoft Word and ExcelAbility to work effectively in a team environmentAbility to accomplish work assignments under minimal supervision and tight deadlinesWell-developed analytical and critical reasoning skillsThe pay range for this role is $26.00 to $34.00.The pay rate for the selected candidate is dependent upon a variety of non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, education, and geographic location.
