Job description

Drives, inspects, and performs light maintenance on the 45’ mobile mammography coach. Performs patient access functions of a specialized nature, including demographics, registration, insurance verification, and billing in multiple locations. Provides administrative support to the mobile technologist and addresses various patient needs. Supplies patients with necessary tools, both in paper and electronic formats, to support clinical and revenue cycle teams, ensuring an optimal experience at UVA. Ensures safe, non-emergent transportation of staff and mammography imaging equipment to various sites. The driver/assistant maintains the vehicle in proper working condition and records all documentation and logs accurately.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Performing patient access functions such as registration and insurance documentation.
  2. Driving safely to prevent injuries or vehicle damage.
  3. Adhering to the Medical Center's access systems, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  4. Completing encounter document activities accurately and promptly.
  5. Providing exceptional customer service in person and over the phone.
  6. Maintaining the vehicle in good operating condition.
  7. Engaging with the work team and supporting the unit's goals.
  8. Performing other duties as assigned.

Position Compensation Range: $21.10 - $32.71 Hourly

Minimum Requirements
  • High School Graduate or Equivalent
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience
  • Class B CDL with air brake endorsement required
  • Valid Virginia Driver's License with a good driving record required
Physical Demands

This role requires prolonged sitting, frequent bending, stooping, traveling, standing, reaching (overhead, extensive, repetitive), and driving (if licensed). Proficient communication, auditory, and visual skills are necessary. Attention to detail and legible writing are essential. Ability to lift, push, or pull over 100 lbs. May be exposed to fumes, chemicals, noise, blood, body fluids, and infectious diseases.
