Job summary

The City of Bartow seeks a semi-skilled tree trimmer to perform trimming and removal near energized electric lines, load debris, and operate a chipper. Responsibilities include driving to sites and providing emergency tree services, under regular supervision.

Required are 3–7 years in tree work, a high school diploma or equivalent, and Florida CDL-B or ability to obtain. CDL and CPR/First Aid training are preferred. Must be able to work flexible hours and in challenging conditions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 3 to 7 years of related experience in tree trimming or related field.
• Intermediate knowledge of tree species and Florida conditions.
• Experience operating bucket trucks and large equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Trim and remove trees and limbs near energized lines; operate equipment.
• Load debris and feed into chipper; maintain work area.
• Perform pruning from bucket or ground with tools.
• Provide emergency tree services and traffic control at sites.
• Assist other departments and citizens in large tree removals.
• Collaborate with teams to ensure safety and code compliance.
