Job summary

Alpine Tree Service is looking for a Crew Lead to grow with a rapidly scaling tree care company in New Jersey. This leadership role is part of our expanding Field Management Team and focuses on mentoring crews, driving performance, upholding safety, and representing Alpine’s culture in the field.

You’ll participate in weekly leadership meetings with Sales, Executive, Office, and Field Management to align strategy, improve communication, and support continued growth.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a Crew Lead in tree care.
• ISA Certified Arborist (or ability to obtain within 6 months).
• Valid, insurable driver’s license.
• Proven leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to use digital tools for scheduling, documentation, and reporting.
• Commitment to Alpine’s culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise, and motivate assigned field crew(s) to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality work.
• Manage morning setup and deployment—equipment, safety checks, and job readiness.
• Conduct daily job briefings, assign responsibilities, and monitor productivity.
• Provide detailed end-of-day reports and performance feedback.
• Train and mentor field employees on equipment operation and safety best practices.
• Attend and contribute to weekly safety meetings and monthly production meetings.
• Participate in onboarding and field training for new hires and interns.
• Assist with snow removal operations during the winter months.
• Enforce and help refine field protocols that improve safety, communication, and efficiency.
