Job summary

The Municipality of Anchorage’s Anchorage Water & Wastewater Utility is seeking a Treatment Plant Operator at the Asplund Wastewater Treatment Facility. Responsibilities include operating, maintaining, and supervising water and wastewater treatment plant and distribution systems, with shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• State of Alaska DEC Water Treatment/Distribution certification at time of application.
• CDL with satisfactory driving record and no Air Brake restriction at time of hire.
• Satisfactory drug screening and background check at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain and minor-maintain water and wastewater treatment plant systems.
• Work according to State Operator Certification levels and role requirements.
• Handle shifts including evenings, nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
• Lead positions may supervise and train other operators as assigned.
