Job summary

State of California seeks a Transportation Surveyor Party Chief to supervise a survey crew performing land surveys and to train staff. You will coordinate GNSS-related work and ensure compliance with surveying standards while reporting to a Senior Transportation Surveyor.

Position may include telework at discretion; located in Oakland with the need to travel for field assignments. A valid California Surveyor license and a California driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• Valid California Land Surveyor's License is required.
• Valid California Class C driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and supervise a survey crew for preliminary, control, topographic, construction, and cadastral land surveys.
• Train subordinates in surveying duties and instrument operation.
• Liaise between Surveys and Construction for GNSS coordination and guidance.
