The Missouri Department of Transportation Northwest District Engineering seeks a transportation project designer to direct a team of designers and technicians in producing detailed construction plans, specs, and estimates while ensuring compliance with standards. Work is performed under general supervision.

Responsibilities include supervising plan preparation, design personnel, and reviewing consultant plans, with opportunities to contribute to project scoping and right-of-way decisions.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university curriculum.
• Six years of experience in highway or transportation engineering; waiver may be considered for experience.

Responsabilidades

• Supervises preparation of construction plans and job special provisions for transportation projects, assigns tasks and resources.
• Supervises design personnel, including employment decisions, training, and performance management.
• Checks and reviews plans for accuracy and compliance with standards and practices for bridge surveys and various plan stages.
• Provides design expertise to project core teams and participates in project scoping.
• Reviews consultant-prepared plans and makes recommendations on developments and permits related to right-of-way.
