Job summary

M&J Engineering P.C. is seeking a Senior Construction Inspector / Lead Inspector in Washington, DC. The role involves leading daily field inspections and supervising inspectors for the District Department of Transportation projects. Candidates must have a minimum of 7-10 years in transportation construction inspection, NICET Level III or IV certification, and ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician certification. Qualifications

• Minimum 7–10 years of transportation construction inspection experience.
• NICET Level III or IV – Transportation Construction Inspection.
• ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade I.
• DDOT Work Zone Traffic Control certification or ATSSA Traffic Control Supervisor (TCS) certification.
• District Erosion and Sediment Control Certification.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate daily field inspection activities for transportation construction projects.
• Supervise Construction Inspectors and coordinate inspection coverage.
• Ensure construction work complies with plans, specifications, standards, and contract requirements.
• Review Daily Inspection Reports (DIRs) prepared by field inspectors.
• Monitor contractor operations including earthwork, drainage, paving, utilities, streetscape improvements, ADA curb ramps, and traffic control devices.
