Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a senior transmission design engineer to design lines from 69kV through 765kV, mentor staff, and coordinate designs that meet client specifications and industry codes. You will prepare calculations, reports, and studies and review others' work using PLS-CADD software.

The role offers a hybrid work arrangement with three days in the office and two remote days, plus a relocation package where applicable.

Qualifications

• BS degree from ABET-accredited engineering program.
• 10+ years of transmission design experience.
• Proficiency with PLS-CADD software.
• Experience preparing scopes of work and conceptual designs.
• Experience with 69kV–500kV transmission lines and client interaction.
• Knowledge of engineering standards including NESC, IEC, ASCE, ACI, IEEE and ANSI.
• Experience reviewing design drawings.

Responsibilities

• Design transmission lines in the 69kV to 765kV range.

• This role offers a hybrid work arrangement, with the expectation of spending three days a week in the office, giving you the flexibility to work remotely for two days.

Essential Skills And Experience

• BS degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program.
• 10 or more years of transmission design experience.
• Proficiency with PLS-CADD software.
• Experience must include preparation of scopes of work, development of conceptual designs, determination of design basis, the selection of equipment and materials, and the preparation and assembling of calculations and specifications.
• Experience working directly with clients on transmission lines from 69kV through 500kV.
• Knowledge of engineering standards including NESC, IEC, ASCE, ACI, IEEE and ANSI.
• Experience reviewing design drawings created by others.

Valued But Not Required Skills And Experience

• PE license
• PMP certification

Compensation Range

$118,023 - $180,313
