Job summary

PIH Health in South El Monte seeks a Clinical Laboratory Scientist to assist in managing laboratory operations. • Assist the laboratory manager/director in departmental management and operations.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and quality assurance.
• Coach, train, and develop laboratory staff.

Job description

Responsibilities

Assists the laboratory manager/director in the management of the assigned laboratory department(s) and its staff and day-to-day operations; this includes, but is not limited to, process improvement, technical procedure revision, staff scheduling, interview process, staff performance review, coaching, training, competency development and assessment; employee relation issues; department compliance; policy and regulatory compliance; and quality assurance/improvement.

Required Experience

• Active California Clinical Laboratory license
• Five (5) years as clinical laboratory scientist (medical technologist) with good general knowledge of all laboratory sections, including one year of acute care hospital lab experience

Preferred Experience

• Three (3) years team lead or supervisory experience
