Job summary

Hitachi Energy in California seeks a Project Manager for transformer service projects to guide planning, execution, and closure. You will lead cross-functional teams, manage budgets, and maintain strong customer communication to ensure on-time delivery and adherence to quality standards.

The role emphasizes risk management, regulatory compliance, and continuous process improvement within the Services Division. Travel may be required domestically and internationally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field, or an associate with 7+ years transformer/substation experience.
• Minimum five years of project management experience in transformer services or heavy industrial equipment.
• Experience delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
• PMP or equivalent certification is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full lifecycle of transformer service projects from initiation through closure.
• Develop project plans, including scope, timelines, resources, and budgets.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams including engineers, technicians, and subcontractors.
• Serve as primary customer contact, managing expectations throughout execution.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate risks with contingency plans.
• Monitor progress, track KPIs, and report to management.
• Control budgets and support cost-effective project delivery.
• Contribute to post-project reviews and improve PM processes and tools.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and guidelines.
