Qualifications

• High school diploma with vocational electronics/repair coursework desirable
• Requires valid Class A CDL within 90 days of employment
• IMSA Traffic Signal Technician Level II certification desirable (or obtainable within 24 months)
• Must possess CDL or be able to obtain within 90 days of employment
• Knowledge of electrical, electro-mechanical and electronics theory for traffic signal systems
• Familiarity with regulations and manuals related to traffic signal maintenance

Responsibilities

• Installs and inspects traffic signal equipment including underground wiring and signal heads
• Trains staff in equipment use as time/workload allows
• Supervises department employees and reviews work
• Troubleshoots problems to determine repair procedures
• Adjusts, replaces, cleans, and repairs traffic signal equipment
• Responds to inquiries, complaints, or concerns about traffic signaling
• Prepares and reviews reports related to maintenance and repair work
• Ensures equipment meets codes and guidelines
