Job summary
City of Glendale seeks a Lead Traffic Signal Technician to oversee field activities, diagnose and repair traffic signal systems, and guide staff. The role requires college coursework in electricity/electronics/construction and 3 years of related experience, with a preference for supervisory experience and IMSA Level II certification.
The position offers a pathway to advanced responsibilities, includes involvement in maintenance programs, and requires operating city vehicles as part of daily
Qualifications
- College coursework in electricity, electronics, or construction.
- 3 years in traffic signal maintenance, installation, and repair.
- 1 year of supervisory or lead experience preferred.
- IMSA Traffic Signal Level II and Inspector certifications on hire.
Responsibilities
- Test, diagnose, and repair traffic signal equipment.
- Lead field activities for construction, maintenance, and operations.
- Provide input, guidance, and training for annual maintenance programs.
- Estimate labor and material costs from signal design plans.
- Review design plans for compliance with SOPs and regulations.
- Inspect and evaluate work to ensure safety and standards.
- Operate city vehicles.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
