Job summary

Coinbase is seeking an Infrastructure Lead to own the deployment, observability, and tooling behind a unified trading platform that spans cloud and on-prem venues. You’ll drive reliability, efficiency, and ownership in a latency-sensitive, multi-node environment.

You will mentor engineers, partner with cross-functional teams, and help shape the roadmap for a high-impact trading stack at a remote-first company that values performance and startup-like ownership.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of infrastructure, platform, or SRE engineering.
• Track record running infrastructure for latency-sensitive trading environments.
• Proficiency with orchestration tooling and containerized/baremetal deployments.
• Strong Linux performance and networking in latency-critical environments.
• Experience delivering end-to-end: scoping, deploy safety, monitoring, incident response.
• Experience in regulated or financial environments where reliability and low latency matter.
• Uses generative AI responsibly with human oversight.

Responsibilities

• Own infrastructure, deployment, and tooling for latency-sensitive trading environments across cloud and on-prem.
• Drive reliability and developer velocity with observability and incident response for 24/7 systems.
• Set operational standards, reviews, and automation to reduce single points of failure.
• Partner with trading platform engineers to keep systems operable and fast.
• Mentor engineers and build team resilience in a lean, high-impact environment.
• Collaborate with Product, Institutional Markets, and SRE to translate needs into a roadmap.
