Job summary

The JCC of Stamford is seeking an experienced Head Toddler Teacher for the KinderPlace program. This role supports two-year-olds through play, guided observation, and collaboration with families to foster language, independence, and social-emotional development.

You will plan developmentally appropriate experiences, document learning, and maintain warm, safe indoor and outdoor classrooms, using Reggio Emilia-inspired, play-based approaches. CPR/First Aid and a background check are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field.
• 2+ years teaching Toddlers in a full-day classroom.
• Experience with emergent curriculum, Reggio Emilia-inspired practices, and play-based learning.
• Strong communication with families and collaboration with co-teachers.
• CPR/First Aid certification and background check required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate learning experiences for two-year-olds.
• Create play-based, inquiry-driven opportunities to foster language growth, exploration, and social skills.
• Document children's learning through notes, portfolios, and displays.
• Collaborate with families and team to evaluate classroom pedagogy.
• Maintain safe, organized indoor and outdoor learning environments.
