Job summary

NEW HOPE BAPTIST CHURCH OF HARLEM INC seeks a lead preschool teacher in a licensed childcare facility. You will create developmentally appropriate lesson plans, read to children, supervise play, and maintain a safe classroom environment.

You will communicate with parents and help organize assessments and notes, supporting classroom staff. Qualifications include 1 year of lead teaching experience, an ECE Credential and/or CDA, and ability to obtain required background checks and certifications.

Qualifications

• Must have 1 year of experience as a lead teacher in a licensed childcare facility.
• Must have an ECE Credential and/or CDA.
• Background check in accordance with BFTS requirements.
• Must be able to obtain CPR, First Aid, and Fire Safety Training certifications.
• Must be able to obtain background and fingerprinting check.

Responsibilities

• Creates developmentally appropriate lesson plans.
• Reads to children and teaches painting, drawing, crafts and songs.
• Maintains a safe play environment.
• Dresses children and changes diapers.
• Observes and monitors children’s play activities.
• Communicates with parents or guardians about daily activities and behaviors.
• Organizes Student Anecdotal and Observation Notes.
• Prepares and conducts child assessments.
• Manages classroom staff.
• Implements the center curriculum.
• Attends required training.

Job Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years old
• Must have at least 1 year experience as a lead teacher in a licensed childcare facility.
• Must have an ECE Credential and/or CDA
• Must have a satisfactory background according to the requirements of BFTS.
• Must be able to obtain or provide certification records of CPR, First Aid, and Fire Safety Training.
• Will be required to obtain background and fingerprinting check

Description Of Duties

• Creates developmentally appropriate lesson plans.
• Reads to children and teaches them painting, drawing, crafts and songs.
• Maintains a safe play environment.
• Dresses children and changes diapers.
• Observes and monitors children’s play activities.
• Disciplined children and recommends or initiates other measures to control behavior
• Communicates with children’s parents or guardians about daily activities, behaviors, and related issues.
• Sanitizes toys and play equipment; maintains full compliance with center infectious disease control
• Performs general administrative tasks, such as taking attendance and making phone calls.
• Organizes Student Anecdotal and Observation Notes
• Prepares and conducts child assessments

Salary

Competitive Salary- Ranging from $12-$17 an hour

Salary is based on a combination of experience and education/training
