Qualifications

• Minimum experience as a first assistant, preferably in cardiac or thoracic surgery.
• Desire to focus on advanced heart and lung failure therapies.
• ACLS Certification and a current DEA number.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons in heart and lung surgeries, including transplants.
• Provide high-quality clinical practices under physician supervision.
• Participate in quality and best practice initiatives.

Skills

Experience as a first assistant

Technical expertise in the operating room

Excellent communication and teamwork

Ability to manage patient care

Education

Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program

Board Certified Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner with RNFA certification

Current Virginia medical license

ACLS and BLS certification
