Job summary

AltaPointe Health in Alabama is seeking an experienced mental health supervisor to lead a program, oversee a multidisciplinary team, and ensure high-quality behavioral health services for adults and families.

The role emphasizes accurate DSM-5 diagnoses, development of person-centered treatment plans, individual, group and family therapy, and close collaboration with consumers, families and outside partners to support recovery and community integration.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a mental health discipline.

Responsibilities

• Maintains an active role as program leader.
• Provides effective clinical assessment of the consumer.
• Utilizes assessment data to support a DSM 5 diagnosis.
• Formulates a person centered, recovery oriented, medically appropriate treatment plan along with consumer that proves medical necessity and obtains signature when plan is created, updated and/or revised.
• Provides individual, group and family therapy, utilizing basic therapeutic models and theories according to consumer needs as stated in the treatment plan.
• Demonstrates the ability to recognize the elements of a crisis state and knows how to deescalate or resolve the situation.
• Effectively collaborates with the treatment team members and outside sources in the delivery of clinical services.
• Provides support and education for consumers and family members.
• Evaluates the consumer for discharge planning.
• Facilitates services that prevent commitment.
• Adheres to professional code of ethics.
• Effectively demonstrates the application of adult and child/adolescent specific competencies.
• Assists with seclusion and restraint per AltaPointe policy and procedures.
• Documents appropriate, complete, and clinically comprehensive mental health assessments.
• Documents measurable and specific problems, goals, and objectives in the treatment plan.
• Documents in a clear and concise manner, types of consumer problems, treatment goals and objectives addressed, services, and techniques used, consumer response and progress and plan for continued services.
• Documents case disposition, case closings, follow-up and referrals
• Documents legibly and provides credentials with each signature.
