Overview

Position in the West Place Drop-In Center. The Therapeutic Activities Worker will model recovery-based behavior in a community-based behavioral health program. A Drop-In Center is a central place for self-help, advocacy, education and socialization. As a therapeutic activities worker, lead the job by assisting mental health consumers with socializing and networking to address isolation, especially for those in mental health recovery. Acts as a liaison for issues or concerns within the program to the supervisor or manager as needed.

Responsibilities

• Follow an overall rehabilitation philosophy and provide guidance to fellow staff and clients in methods of achieving them.
• Engage drop-in members in actively using the center to increase level of community integration.
• Assist in preparing and cooking meals.
• Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the program.
• Participate in and accompany members in outings and activities.
• Ensure the safety of the program, program’s property, and individuals attending the program.
• Follow safety policy and protocols as set forth by Independence Health Systems and Caregivers of SWPA.
• Maintain client records.
• Complete documentation that is associated with the program.
• Follow all program and organization policies and procedures.
• Ability to perform the Essential Functions on the Physical Conditions chart; and the ability to perform the Essential Functions on the Working Conditions chart (see attached charts).
