Job summary

Leader Communications Inc. in Oklahoma City seeks an Administrative Project Manager to oversee contracts and provide status reports while serving as the administrative link between on-site contractor staff and the home office. The role requires the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S.

Government security clearance. Responsibilities include troubleshooting and maintaining telecom hardware, managing trouble tickets (MACs), performing site surveys, and coordinating field technicians.

Qualifications

  • Education and certifications listed: high school or equivalent, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA A+, Desktop PC Repair Certification, iBwave Design Level 3, plus at least five years of telecom experience.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, program, maintain, and replace CSU/DSU, switches, routers, and essential network devices.
  • Install and maintain telecommunication hardware including phones, paging networks, alarms, teleconference equipment, and data circuits.
  • Extend, test, and troubleshoot data lines such as T1, 56K, ISDN.
  • Evaluate inside/outside infrastructure cabling and design routes using copper and fiber.
  • Manage trouble tickets and MACs; close work orders.
  • Perform site surveys and assist in project planning.

Position Summary

The Administrative Project Manager covers contracts and situations that require no technical leadership and provides status and progress reporting while providing an administrative connection between onsite contractor staff and contractor’s home office. The Lead Telecommunications Technician must be able to evaluate, analyze, develop or improve communication systems, procedures and requirements Individual must be able to attain and maintain a valid U.S. Government security clearance in order to be retained in the position.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot, repair, program, maintain, and replace CSU/DSU, switch equipment, routers, and essential network devices.
  • Install and maintain specialized communication hardware including telephones, paging networks, fire alarms, intrusion alarms, teleconference equipment, and computer data circuits.
  • Extend, test, and troubleshoot critical telecommunication circuits including T1, 56K, ISDN, and advanced data lines.
  • Evaluate both inside and outside infrastructure cable plants; design and create equipment route paths utilizing copper and fiber media.
  • Analyze system failures and unusual network occurrences to isolate the problem source, determining technical causality between software, hardware, or environmental factors.
  • Actively manage the daily lifecycle of trouble tickets, executing moves, adds, and changes (MACs) to complete and officially close work orders.
  • Perform comprehensive facility site surveys using complex technical documents to assist in the development of project job planning.
  • Analyze, assign, and distribute incoming work orders to technicians as designated by management.
  • Assume full operational authority and serve as the acting Project Manager/Supervisor in the absence of the Telecommunications PM.
  • Maintain rigorous manual and computerized office records, including equipment detail records, cabling manifests, and parts inventory databases.

Education & Experience Requirements
  • Education Minimum Must be a high school graduate or equivalent
  • Must possess or obtain CompTIA Network+ or equivalent credential
  • Must possess or obtain CompTIA A+ or equivalent credential Education
  • Must possess or obtain a formal Desktop PC Repair Certification
  • Must possess or obtain an iBwave Design Level 3 Certification
  • Experience Duration Must possess a minimum of five (5) years of documented telecommunications experience
Skill & Certification Requirements
  • 5 Years of Documented Telecommunications Experience
  • Legacy Voice & Circuit Engineering (T1, 56K, ISDN) Mandatory / Technical SOW Core Duties
  • Network Hardware Configuration (Switches, Routers, CSU/DSU)
  • Facility Communications Maintenance (Paging, Fire/Intrusion Alarms)
  • Wireless Network Deployment (WAPs, Cellular Wireless Technology)
  • Physical Cable Plant Infrastructure Mapping (Fiber Optic, Coaxial)
  • Work Order Lifecycle Management (Trouble Tickets, MACs, Work Closures)
  • Highly proficient in business software applications (i.e.: Microsoft Office – Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, SharePoint, and PowerPoint)
  • Strong ability to lead, guide, and mentor personnel and multi—task
  • Position requires sitting, for long periods of time. (Sedentary Work)
  • Most duties require extended use of a keyboard and computer monitor
  • Extended Telephone Use
  • May require lifting of 20-50 lbs
