Job summary

EOI Space is seeking a Lead Technician to head the technician team through spacecraft assembly, integration, and test. This working leadership role combines hands-on build work with day-to-day team guidance across mechanical and electrical integration, harness fabrication, and final spacecraft assembly.

The ideal candidate will have 8+ years in aerospace, proven leadership, and a strong safety/workmanship mindset.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience with spacecraft or satellite applications.
  • Proven experience in a technical leadership role (Technician Lead or similar).
  • Hands-on background in aerospace, electrical, mechanical, and structural assembly, including harness fabrication and spacecraft integration.
  • Familiarity with test equipment (oscilloscopes, DMMs, HiPot, torque tools).
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities with practical solutions.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations, compliance standards, and best practices.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety protocols and safe working environment.
  • Ability to regularly lift and move up to 50 lbs and use shop tools.
  • Must be a U.S. person (U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident).
  • Preferred: IPC/NASA workmanship standards certifications and supervisory training.
  • On-site test of skills may be part of the interview process.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a high-performing technician team with training, goal setting, and performance monitoring.
  • Coordinate work schedules, assignments, and workload distribution across the team.
  • Identify development and training opportunities through regular performance evaluations.
  • Serve as escalation point for complex technical issues and guide technicians in troubleshooting.
  • Lead and participate in hiring and onboarding of new technicians.
  • Oversee spacecraft assembly, guiding the team and ensuring resources are available.
  • Manage manufacturing and integration of mechanical and electronic subsystems and harnesses.
  • Integrate and deploy GSE hardware to facilitate spacecraft build and subsystems.
  • Oversee HIL and Flatsat configurations, ensuring proper maintenance and control.
  • Follow engineering drawings and develop process plans and SOPs with engineering/production teams.
  • Identify and reduce process inefficiencies and improve workflows.
  • Raise issues with build documentation or hardware and drive resolution with engineering.
  • Ensure adherence to safety, quality, timelines, and ATLO procedures.
