Job summary

Cardinal Health in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a maintenance technician to install and maintain plant facilities and production equipment. You will perform preventative maintenance, respond to emergency repairs, and support continuous operations in a 1st shift with other shifts as needed.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, 4+ years of manufacturing maintenance experience, and strong mechanical aptitude. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and good communication are important.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • 4+ years' experience in manufacturing or plant maintenance preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read manuals and work orders.
  • Good written and verbal communication; able to follow safety rules.
  • Ability to work weekends/holidays and various shifts as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Performs diversified duties to install and maintain plant facilities and production equipment.
  • Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs during production and machine service.
  • Performs simple machinist duties and responsibilities.
  • Performs mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic troubleshooting and repair.
  • Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders for maintenance.
  • Diagnoses problems, replaces parts, and tests adjustments on equipment.
  • Performs regular preventive maintenance on facilities and production lines.
  • Uses hand and power tools, meters, and material handling equipment.
  • Detects faulty operation and reports unusual situations to supervision.
  • Follows safety regulations and maintains clean work areas.
  • Maintains Good Documentation Practices and work records.
  • Collaborates across units to achieve goals; may guide others.

Anticipated hourly range: $22.30 per hour - $37.12 per hour

Shift/Schedule

Full Time / 40 hours per week

Weekend Shift - 1st shift hours/Friday-Monday 6:00am - 6:00pm

Need to be flexible to work different shifts, schedules, overtime, on-call, holidays, and weekdays to support business needs.

Responsibilities
  • Performs highly diversified duties to install and maintain the plant facility and production equipment
  • Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of facility and production lines/equipment during production and machine service. Performs scheduled maintenance repairs as needed
  • Performs simple machinist duties and responsibilities
  • Performs mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of plant facilities and production lines/equipment
  • Reads and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service on plant facilities and production lines/equipment
  • Diagnoses problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments on plant facilities and production lines/equipment
  • Performs regular preventive maintenance on plant facilities, productions machines and equipment
  • Uses a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
  • Detects faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
  • Complies with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas
  • Follows Good Documentation Practices
  • Networks across business and functional units to achieve positive outcomes
  • Performs other job duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent, or equivalent work experience, preferred
  • 4+ years' experience preferred
  • Ability to manage up to 75 pounds
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and follow up skills
  • Past automation line experience in a manufacturing facility strongly preferred
  • Strong mechanical aptitude preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft office
  • Good written communication skills
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, on-call, various schedules/shifts, and overtime as needed
