Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a Lead Technician to oversee fabrication, assembly, integration, and testing of complex electro-mechanical and avionics systems on the Omen Team. You will guide technicians, ensure quality standards, and collaborate closely with engineering and production in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in manufacturing, strong tool and wiring diagram skills, and the ability to adapt to shifting priorities.

Qualifications

  • Requires 5+ years in a manufacturing setting (aerospace, electronics, or medical) with mechanical and/or electrical assemblies.
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams and follow assembly instructions.
  • Strong communication, prioritization, and adapting to a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead technician team daily to meet production targets and train team members.
  • Support hardware development through pre-production, qualification, and production builds.
  • Transition product lines from engineering to full-rate production.
  • Provide feedback on process improvements, line layout, and work instructions.
  • Maintain pilot line and tool storage; follow blueprints and schematics.
  • Record assembly processes, test results, and issues; ensure safety procedures.

ABOUT THE TEAM

Anduril is seeking a Lead Technician to join the Omen Team within Maneuver Dominance. Omen is Anduril’s hover-to-cruise autonomous air vehicle (AAV) that packs the endurance, payload, and mission flexibility of much larger airplanes into a novel runway-independent Group 3 platform. Omen can operate from ship decks, beaches, or remote island clearings, providing true runway independence and freedom of maneuver across defense and civilian domains. Omen is the first tail-sitter aircraft with a mass-production contract, with an order of 50 systems representing a decisive investment that anchors production and accelerates the development of future systems.

ABOUT THE JOB

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Lead Technician to oversee and coordinate the technical fabrication, assembly, integration, and testing of complex electro-mechanical and avionics systems. The ideal candidate will provide technical guidance, ensure quality standards, and collaborate closely with engineering and production teams in a fast-paced environment.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Lead daily activities of technician team to meet production targets. Help manage daily priorities, provide necessary process and design feedback, and train team where knowledge gaps are present.
  • Support new product engineering during development and pre-production phases of hardware life-cycles, including building pre-production, qualification, and production hardware.
  • Assist with transitioning product lines from engineering development to full rate production.
  • Provide detailed feedback to engineering team on process improvements, common issues, line layout, and work instructions.
  • Maintain engineering pilot line and tool storage
  • Follow detailed blueprints, schematics, and instructions to assemble products or systems
  • Maintain detailed records of assembly processes, test results, and any issues encountered
  • Follow safety protocols and procedures in the workplace
  • Possibility for overtime and weekend shifts as needed
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5+ years of experience working in a manufacturing setting (aerospace, electronics, or medical industry is preferred) performing mechanical and/or electrical assemblies
  • Proficient with common hand tools and power tools such as pliers, wrenches, screwdrivers, depth micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, pressure gauges, multimeters, test boxes or specialized test equipment
  • Proficient with computer use (standard browser, word processing applications)
  • Able to read a wiring diagrams and follow assembly instructions
  • Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a high-paced, challenging work environment
  • Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written) with engineering and production
  • Ability to effectively prioritize self and team member activities to achieve production goal
  • Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export controlled information or facilities
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Lead or managed a team of technicians in the past
  • Demonstrated experience with many aspects of aircraft or ground systems fabrication, repair, assembly, and operation including structural fabrication, integration, composites fabrication, and avionics build/integration/test
  • Experience with common air-frame construction techniques such as rivets, mechanical fasteners, nut plates, etc.
  • Prior hands-on experience with kit, model, or experimental aircraft builds
  • Running functional checkouts and tests, and diagnosing issues discovered during these processes
  • Troubleshooting ability with good first principles logic
  • Basic understanding of LEAN manufacturing principles
  • Assist with kitting products, as needed
  • Holds an Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license or has similar training
  • Forklift certification

US Hourly Range: $43 — $55 USD
